Indiana Thespians were one of the first school groups in the country to produce Suffs through MTI’s “The Young are at the Gates” Grant. This production was also chosen as a main stage production for the International Thespian Festival. I was very fortunate to be asked to provide the backdrop design and printing services for this show. The concept was inspired by the Corinthian columns of the US Capitol building, Silver Gelatin type photo processing of the time, and the color purple – a symbol of loyalty adopted by the Women’s Suffrage movement.
